What I'm Reading...
This blog is designed to share what I am reading. As I finish reading chapter books that are appropriate for elementary students, I will write about them here. Maybe something I read will spark your interest!
![]() I would like to be a billionaire. Who wouldn't? I figured this would be a good story to read to see what kind of curse having that much money could bring. It turned out to be a good adventure in which the 13 year boy, Gerald, discovers that he has (or had) a great-aunt Geraldine (whom he was named after), and who appears to have been a billionaire. Despite having never known her, she leaves her entire fortune (minus a few odds and ends left to other people) to Gerald, and she leaves him information that leads him on an adventure to locate her killer. The Billionaire's Curse by Richard Newsome (Lexile: 730; Interest Level: Grades 3-6) was a fun story to read, but I can't claim it was one of my favorites. There were some inconsistencies in the language of the book, but it was certainly fun to watch Gerald make new friends and start a new life where he could afford anything he wanted. This book is the first book in a series.
